John of God

There are many strange and mysterious events we do not understand. For instance, each year on the first full moon night of October, a wondrous phenomenon occurs in the Mekong River in northern Thailand. Hundreds of red, pink and orange fireballs soar up into the sky from the river, an event that coincides with the end of Buddhist Lent. Local residents have long embraced the legend that the flames come from a mythical Naga, or serpent, in a gesture of homage to the Lord Buddha. It is more likely that this natural fireworks display has something to do with production of natural gas in conjunction with decomposition of soil on the riverbed. I prefer the serpent explanation.

Maybe we don’t always need to understand something when it is nothing short of a miracle. This month John of God, the Amazonian healer from Brazil, will be seeing thousands of people at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in Rhinebeck, New York. This is his first trip to Omega and already the energy is creating a buzz. Last year Omega’s director Skip Bacchus met with this humble healer in Brazil, the meeting changed not only his health, but his life as well.

John of God works as a medium, a channel for a number of healing entities working through him in one form or another. In Brazil he often works as a psychic surgeon, something I encountered years ago in England with a different healer. There is a particular energy about a true psychic surgeon, otherworldly or ethereal would probably be a way to describe it.

John of God will be here from 1st until 4th of October. If you are not lucky enough to be one of the almost four thousand people visiting him over this four day period then you can imagine yourself with him and his helpers either in the USA or in Brazil. Remember, everything is energy so it does not make any difference where you are in the world, you can still make a connection.

Three hours of meditation is recommended before seeing John of God, so this may well be something that will help you to prepare to work with his energy on the ethers. Once you have completed this preparation time, visualize yourself wearing white and waiting in line with other people who are also wearing white. Imagine the line moves very quickly and before you know it you are effortlessly guided to stand in front of him and his helpers. From that moment on just go with whatever comes to you to embrace the energy that he has to offer you. Do not judge this process. Miracles come in all shapes and sizes. Just be open to receive.
